Grade 7 Grad Update- Only 3 parents currently involved with the committee. Still need to find options for luncheon (Opa, Fukuruku, Five Guys). Colors will stay the same as last year (blue and silver). Staff appreciation will also be together with gr. 7 luncheon. Still looking for decorations (backdrops, balloon arches, etc). There will be grad hoodies and photo book for the students. No DJ this year.
Treasurer Report not provided as Treasurer not in attendance. General Account and Gaming Account balance provided to members.
Fundraising Update (Katya) Family Photo Day- 17 families were booked. $357.00 went towards PAC. Cheque has been received. Google Feedback Form (Re: Fundraising and PAC) to be shared on social media. Promote during Sports Day when more parents will be around. Have a board outside with the information regarding the form. Have a QR code and offer a prize/gift as an incentive for those who fill out the form. Such incentives would include either free hot lunch or Lee spirit wear.
Administrator’s Report (Alfred Chan) May/June very busy (lots of fieldtrips). Successful band concert and Track and Field. Talent Show- Organized by the UBC student teachers was quite the success. Gr.7 preparing to transition to gr. 8. Had a McRoberts tour. McNair will also be hosting a tour and activity day for gr. 7’s. Welcome to Kindergarten (May 22) . Sports Day (June 13)- There is no plan in place for a rain out day. No PRIDES (There were no connections with the intermediates/primary’s). There will be 7 activity stations (Buddy Teams as it was a successful year with the buddy system). There will also be the annual bike/scooter/skate parade. End of the year Gr. 7 and Farewell assembly. Will say goodbye to the temporary staff. Next September (2025) -There will be a 95% chance we will have 14 divisions. Plateau with the enrollment numbers. May gain a number of kids over the summer. Next school year’s focus will be CARE FOR SELF (Back to school focus. Theme of RESPECT) Program name: Random Acts of Kindness.
Prow-a-thon- Pledges are still continuing to come in. Deadline to donate is May 23.
Roundtable Discussion
Track Results- Ribbons will be given out for 1st-8th place.
Split grade classes- Has pros/cons. Depending on numbers, will have more split grade classes. More flexible.
Prowl-a-thon Donations- Not even at $1000. Parent suggestions: Look into “Event Auctria”, an online payment system used by private schools. More user friendly. Maybe have staff to help lead with stretches/warmup of students outside so parents can see instead of just coming outside and running right away. Another suggestion for next year is to have a hype squad and provide parents with pom poms to cheer the students on. Having individual class themes was a good idea. All these ideas to be brought up next February 2026 in preparation for Prowl-a-thon next year.
Welcome Back BBQ- No updates. No grant from Richmond Cares. Golda to be emailing someone from the city of Richmond regarding the city grant and why we were denied. Applied for BC Hydro Grant (far fetched) – Sustainability has to be reflected. Talk to vendor from last year. Fresh Slice grant (Cares Grant)- Never heard back from Seafair franchisee. Has to be put toward something sports focused ($2000) Originally for playground stuff.
June 18, 2025 at 5:30pm – AGM (Nominations from PAC) and voting. Teams/Zoom meetings for every other PAC meeting was suggested by a parent to see if more parents would be more involved. City Bylaws? Next Meeting PAC meeting: June 18, 2025 (AGM) Meeting adjourned at 6:35PM.
