Welcome and Introductions
K.C. called the meeting to order at 5:05pm, Land acknowledgment, and
thanked all in attendance.
Review and Approval of Agenda - Motioned by JB and seconded by AC
Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
The previous minutes from June 2024 (AGM) were Motioned by AC and
Seconded by KB
Adopt discussion on sensory path.
Chair Report (KC)
● Spirit wear fundraiser
○ Styles for students and staff
● Budget meeting will be held soon
Treasurer Report (JB and AC)
● Fundraising profit for last year was $13,353.40
● Misc Interest included the spirit wear and PAC concession
● Account update
○ Total Approved Expenditures: $12,637.86
Hot Lunch Update (KC)
● Hot lunch this week
● We have Freshslice as new vendor
● Looking at new poke vendor
● Fruit and milk program will restart soon, twice a month
○ KC currently distributing; would like to have a volunteer take this on,
however they would need a valid with Food Safe Certificate
Fundraising Update (KB)
● Purdy’s Chocolatier catalogues are coming soon; will be distributed and ordering
will conclude in early Nov for delivery by mid-late Nov
● Family photo event may happen this year; studios being contacted to determine
availability and pricing
● Westcoast seeds - to be revisited next year prior to Spring gardening season
● Created by kids - A potential fundraiser that involves teachers sending home a
chosen piece of art created by a student and the parents/caregivers can then
order various items featuring that same art (i.e. keychains). Alfred to approach
teachers to see if they would be willing to take this on. More info can be found at

Administrator’s Report (Principal Chan)
● Enrollment - over 500 new students in Richmond elementary and secondary this
new school year
● Students missing certain amount consecutive days will miss their spot at school
● 341 students at Walter Lee at the moment and max is 342.
● School staff acknowledge the PAC for hosting another successful Welcome Back
BBQ
● Orange shirt day on Sept 27, and Terry Fox event in first week of October
● Next month, Grade 6 and 7 will go to camp
● School will continue to use an affordability fund to help students attending camp,
and in addition there is food at school for students who are in need. Students are
welcome to go to the office and obtain snacks
● Resource - teachers will meet in the next few weeks to discuss
● Parking lot - messages regarding safety / safe driving / proper parking, will
continued to be sent out to families
● Digital device policy - devices are not encouraged to be used during school time
● District has been having blended classrooms between grades to enhance student
development
● Hallway flooring and exterior painting were re-done during summer and no
update about parking lot line painting yet
Roundtable Discussion
● Sensory Pathway
○ Budget was approved and flooring is redone
○ Need another meeting to discuss on the design to purchase
○ Need to double check with District regulation
● RDPA meetings in November
○ Any parents are welcome to attend the meeting
● Recycling Program
○ Funds collected from recycling program usually goes to Grade 6 and
7 camp program or the PAC funding
○ Opportunity for Grade 6 and 7 students to take on leadership to
guide students about hygiene and recyclability
○ Opportunity to teach students about green initiative and
sustainability
○ Prinicpal Chan to approach 6/7 staff members to see if they have students
who would take on the recycling duties
● Christmas Photo event
○ Potential fundraiser event to have family photos, breakfast with
Santa, Winter Wonderland Fair, Gingerbread decorating
● Winter concert
○ To be discussed at the next meeting
● Movie Night
○ KC to confirm with Admin as to date of November 22, 2024 is
agreeable for the event
● RDPA meeting on October 1st
○ D.G. to be added as RDPA co-rep with S.D.
○ Both RDPA Representatives are both busy on that date; K.C. to attend
meeting on their behalf
Welcome Back BBQ Review
● Parents suggested to minimise number of stations to line up
● Some parents mentioned that there’s a lack of signage. We can use
numbers, arrows and floor charts.
● Some parents prefer to pay cash on the spot rather than order ahead
online
● Stamp passport to have space for students to put names to avoid multiple
entry for draw
● All stations were busy during the BBQ
● Potentially have a food bank drive with BBQ
● Potentially another dessert truck but minimum spending will be an issue
● Potentially talking to other organisations to perform at the event
● PAC will continue to apply for grants to sponsor our community event
