Gr 4-7 Parent info session for upcoming Sexual Health sessions

Sexual health education is an important part of the Physical and Health Education curriculum. When students have a comprehensive understanding of how our bodies and minds develop, they are empowered to make healthy, informed decisions and keep themselves safe.

To supplement the PHE curriculum, this year, we have invited “Options for Sexual Health” to come to Walter Lee in May to work with our classes on May 26-29.  Each class will receive 2 one-hour sessions.

Students in Grade 3 to 5 will be learning about their bodies as they develop both physically and emotionally. Topics covered will include:

Sexual health education is a mandatory part of the BC curriculum. While students cannot opt out of this learning, parents may request alternative delivery for specific sensitive topics related to reproduction and human sexuality. Alternative delivery is arranged in consultation with the school, and students are still required to meet the learning standards.  Please connect with your child’s classroom teacher.
