Welcome and Introductions

Kathleen called the meeting to order at 5:24pm, Land acknowledgment, and thanked all in attendance.

Review and Approval of Agenda: Motioned by April and Seconded by Katya.

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes (March 2025): Motioned by April and Seconded by Michelle

Chair Report (Kathleen)

Hot lunch has introduced Nando’s to the students.  Seemed to be a success.  No complaints.

Fruit and Milk Program

Treat Sale (Popcorn and Candy) Very popular with students and reasonably priced.  Freezies will also be a part of the Treat Sales and this time only add 3-4 flavors at a time.

Treasurer Report (April)

General Account Balance, Gaming Account Balance and Gr. 6/7 Fundraising Account Balance all provided to members.

Fundraising Update (Katya)

Samosa Fundraiser only had 14 orders.  Profit of $317.69

Family Photo Fundraiser: 24 spots have been booked with 8 spots left.

Lee’s Donuts: No response as of yet.

Possible Pub Night: Would have to be a PAC event and not a school event.  (Will have to ask Golda regarding this event as DeBeck may have also had a pub night)

Pedal Heads: Promo Code can be used until June 2025.

Movie Night (Spring 2025): Profit of $167.08 (Admission/Pizza) Both this movie night and the one before (November 2024) were low turnouts.  

The idea of a Google Comment/Survey form for parent’s feedback on fundraisers was brought up by Katya.  Would like to maybe give a little incentive or prize for those that fill out the form.

More volunteers are needed for the Gr. 7 Parent Committee (Grad Ceremony/Luncheon will be on Wednesday June 25, 2025.

Sports Day will be held on June 13, 2025.  The idea was brought up that instead of doing a Treat Sale afterwards (Concern that it was too much sugar for the students), that maybe we can give the students fruit (Bananas or apples).  Tania will look into fruit donation from Kins and Sawa will check with Richmond Country Farms.

Administrator’s Report (Alfred Chan)

May is a busy month: Band Concert, Prowl-A-Thon, Track Meet (For grades 4-7 only on May 14, 2025)

There will be no school busses available for the students to be transported to Minoru track.  Will need parent volunteer drivers. 

Community Garden and Outdoor Learning Space (September?)

Teacher Updates: Amy (Admin) is back from maternity leave and Ricki C. has left Walter Lee.

Low Kindergarten enrollment for 2025/2026

There will be a mid May meeting to confirm staffing.

Not sure how many divisions there will be for September 2025.  Hoping for 14 divisions with 330 students.

Beginning of May students will get to vote between 3 different graphics for the new Social Emotional Learning design for “PAWS”.

May 7, 2025, Gateway Theatre performance for Gr. 6/7 band

Prowl-A-Thon Theme: Each class to choose their own theme.  Prizes for best class theme.

Welcome Back BBQ (September 2025): Small neighbourhood grant (Richmond Cares/Richmond Gives).  No updates regarding grant. 

Roundtable Discussion

Lee Facebook page has 88 members and What’s App Group has 41 members.  How can we get more parents to be involved?

Welcome to Kindergarten: May 22, 2025 from 1pm-2pm

Gym mats: Need a way to fasten the mats onto the gym walls

Constitution and Bylaws: Next meeting discussion

Think about positions for PAC 2025/2026 school year (PAC AGM will be June 18, 2025)
