We are Kind and Respectful
In April, we conducted a survey with Walter Lee students to better understand how they are feeling at school. Over the past three school years, we have focused on helping our students:
- Give and receive kindness and respect
- Develop the ability to reflect on their actions
- Learn to solve problems and manage frustrations in calm and productive ways
The survey results showed that many students in Grades 2–5 feel safe and cared for at school. They are also learning to solve problems in respectful and kind ways.
This past school year marked the introduction of our new Social Emotional Learning (SEL) model: CARE for Self, CARE for Others, and CARE for Place. Our school is committed to using this shared language to promote a safe, respectful, and kind community at Walter Lee.
