Recently, the Ministry of Education and Child Care has expanded curriculum content in areas related to consent education and gender-based violence. More information can be found on the Erase BC website (click here for consent/gender-based violence and click here for online safety).

As noted in a recent January, 2024 announcement, the provincial government is also moving forward to establish concrete actions to keep students safe online and in school.

The Richmond School district is partnering with the Exploitation Education Institute to share a presentation on ‘Cybersafe from Exploitation’ in all elementary schools for Grade 6 and 7 students. This presentation will be occurring at Lee Elementary School on April 11.
