WELCOME BACK BBQ

Date: Thursday, September 15, 2022

Meet the Staff: 4:45pm - 5:30pm

Welcome Back BBQ & Event: 5:30pm - 7:00pm

After Meet the Staff on Thursday, September 15th, stay for the Walter Lee Welcome Back BBQ and kick off the new school year by connecting - or reconnecting - with the school community. This event received funding from the City of Richmond's Neighbourhood Celebration Grant. The purpose of the event is to (re)connect families to the school, community and each other, and encourage us to reflect on our role as caring members of the Walter Lee school and neighbourhood community.

Pre-Order Your Family's BBQ Dinner

The BBQ will be prepared by M&M Food Market. Beef hamburgers, hot dogs (contain pork) and veggie burgers will be available through pre-order only. You are also welcome to bring a picnic dinner for your family. (BBQ facilities are not available for bring-your-own meals).

Thanks to grant funding, each family will receive a $4 discount off their total BBQ order and two complimentary apples with their meal. All BBQ meals must be pre-ordered online by Wednesday, September 7th! There will be no on-site sales.

How To Order: Order online at https://munchalunch.com/schools/walterlee. Your family may still order two apples even if you do not order a BBQ meal. Please see the second attachment for ordering details.

About the Event

Enjoy music and check out community organizations like the Richmond Public Library, South Arm Community Centre, Richmond RCMP and Richmond Fire Rescue that will be on-site with resources for the whole family. Get to know other Walter Lee families through activities focused on sharing what it means to be part of the Walter Lee community and how we can all make our community a better place to live, learn and play! The event will be held outdoors, so bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets. We are also aiming for a sustainable event, so try to walk or bike and bring a refillable water bottle and reusable plate.

Volunteers Needed!

The PAC needs some help to make this event a success! We are looking for parents/guardians and older siblings who can help out with jobs like set-up, tear down, food distribution and overseeing activity tables. Volunteer hours can be signed off for secondary school students. Please check the “VOLUNTEER” option in Munch-a-Lunch that is provided after placing your order, or email Michael at LeeElementaryPAC@gmail.com.

QUESTIONS? If you have questions about the event, please email LeeElementaryPAC@gmail.com.
