We are very excited to start up a new school year with your children! I wanted to follow up on a recent communication that was sent out to families from our Superintendent, Scott Robinson, last week. The intent of the communication was to update families as we prepare for school start up on Tuesday. I wanted to expand on that and share additional information as it relates to Walter Lee. Here are some additional important details:
Tuesday, September 7th:
- Students in grades 1-7 attend at 9:00am for one hour. Students are asked to report to their previous year's teacher and to meet outside of the school (same location as you did last year). Teachers will meet you outside. Parents, please note this is for 1 hour so students will meet you outside at the same spot at 10:00am to be picked up.
*NEW students in grades 1 - 7, are asked to please report to the office at 9:00am. Please pick up your child outside the office at 10:00am.
- Kindergarten students will attend from 1:00-2:00pm and will be asked to meet at the back of the school, in the basketball court area where staff will be there to meet you. We will have a feedback form to hand out to help us learn more about your child.
Wednesday, Sept. 8 - Friday, Sept. 10:
- Students in grades 1-7 attend from 8:45-2:45. Again, please meet your teachers outside the school.
- Kindergarten students will follow their gradual entry schedules
A few more important reminders:
*Please note that at this time parents will not be allowed into the school, this is why we will be meeting all students outside.
**In keeping with the PHO mandate, masks will be required for all students in grades 4-7. Students in grades K-3 will be encouraged to wear masks.
***As we did last year, there will be no lunch drop off at the school, please make sure your child(ren) has their recess and lunch with them at the start of the day. A personal water bottle with your child's name on it, is recommended as water fountains in the school are not accessible.
We will continue to follow the guidelines of the Provincial Health Officer as it relates to Health & Safety protocols in school and we will continue to update families as we receive updated information.
We are excited about this new school year and we are looking forward to working with you in support of your child(ren).
