Congratulations to the 76 members of the Walter Lee Elementary Team who participated in the RBC "Race for the Kids" event this Sunday, June 4th!
Although we got a little unexpected sprinkle of rain to start our morning, the weather cleared up quickly and it was a beautiful morning to run or walk either the 2K or 5K routes. Everyone enjoyed the fun activities and great snacks at the Kids' Carnival after the event as well.
As you look at the photos below, you may notice gold ribbons that the team members are wearing pinned to their shirts. Thank you to Kelsey and her mom for the lovely handmade ribbons. The gold ribbons represent childhood cancer, and the word "hope" or "love" is written in Braille on each ribbon.
As a team, we raised over $3800 to support childhood cancer research! WELL DONE, everyone!
