Our StrongStart Centre is open every morning that the school is open to students, with the exception of the last Friday of every month. Ms. Marianne Go (ECE) and Ms. Marie Magnan (ECE) are our StrongStart Coordinators who work with parents and children who attend our sessions. The activities facilitated by Ms. Go and Ms. Magnan include:
- Stories, songs and puppet plays
- Counting, sorting and matching games
- Opportunities to play with other children
- Crafts, puzzles, playdough, and more
Children attending any StrongStart Centre in the province are required to register only once. Once registered, children may attend any StrongStart Centre in the province. Richmond has five StrongStart Centres at the following Elementary Schools: Walter Lee, Grauer, Mitchell, Thompson, and Woodward.
StrongStart targets children between birth and age five (5). Children who attend StrongStart must be accompanied by a parent, family member or guardian and participation is strongly encouraged. To promote fairness and equal access, attending three (3) times per week is suggested.
In our Strong Start Centre, cell phone use is prohibited. Out of respect for the learning and enjoyment of others, we ask that if you must use your cell phone, please go outside.
Hours for our Centre are: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 11:30am. For a printed schedule of all of our StrongStart hours, addresses, and contact information, please Visit our StrongStart Website Here
